I am absolutely fuming mad! Two buses, in a row, have failed to turn up. I wanted to catch the bus due in at Ilkley bus station at 17.14 but that one didn't show up. So I, and many other angry people, waited till the next bus due in at 17.44. No sign of that one. In the meantime, a bus shows up which is going all the way back to Leeds but taking no passengers (the bus driver said it was the end of his shift). Some people wandered off to catch alternative transport but I had to wait because it's the only bus that goes anywhere near my house. Finally a X84 showed up at 18.14. I asked that bus driver where the other buses had got to and he was rather rude and unhelpful. I'd already paid for a "Dayrider", supposedly saving me money, but because the bus was over an hour late it was now off-peak fares which meant I'd wasted money.

I rang up to get the adress of First Leeds to complain to them directly. I am still awaiting replies to the last to the last two complaints.

I have just returned from a holiday in Edinburgh and while there we traveled on the local Lothian bus service. Their buses are a contrast with my x84 service. All the Lothian buses ran on time and were cheap. Not one of the buses made clanks and noises (a lot of x84 buses squeal or make a funny noise when they slow down making waiting at traffic lights painful). Each bus stop had a sign on where each bus went to and a timetable. It made catching a bus each day almost a pleasure, compared to what I used to, and I'm not any kind of bus geek!

On my return I received a letter from "First" about the complaint I had made about one of their buses failing to turn up. The letter only acknowledged my complaint and says they are investigating. So far it seems to have taken about 20 days to investigate!
