The next bus due at 16:34 was late and when the bus finally rolled up, the driver, instead of letting passengers on the bus decided he wanted a cigarette break! After five minutes of smoking he decided to get back on the bus. He was followed by a queue of people, already disgruntled by having to wait so long, trying to board the bus. An off peak fare for me one way costs £1.50, a peak fare one costs £2.00 and a dayrider costs £3.30. The "cheapest" way for me to travel each day is buying a dayrider as I often make two peak fare journeys. I was left standing on the side of a very busy road (my bus stop area is smaller than a pavement, width wise) in the freezing cold for another 20 minutes. The cows in the field took in an interest in me and attempted to nibble my arm off. The next bus eventually turned up but I was late for work.
